The Advocacy Section (AS), Public Affairs and Policy Support Branch (PAB), Division for Policy Analysis and Public Affairs (DPA), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is offering an internship opportunity for a period of six months, starting in February 2025. The Public Advocacy Section serves as a driving force in advancing the organization's mission to combat drugs, crime, and corruption on a global scale. Among its initiatives are awareness campaigns, policy advocacy, and capacity-building programs aimed at empowering governments, law enforcement agencies, and civil society to effectively address the challenges posed by drugs, crime, and corruption. Among other activities, the team works on developing communication strategies, managing public relations including with the media, crisis communications, digital and social media management, brand management and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of communications efforts. The internship is unpaid and full-time (five days per week – 40 hours.). The selected intern will gain practical working experience in an international organization setting in communications while providing valuable support to the Advocacy Section team, contributing actively to increasing the organization's visibility. For information on UNODC and the Advocacy Section, kindly visit: www.unodc.org Daily duties and responsibilities include: • Draft social media messages for UNODC's corporate social media channels. • Schedule social media content on relevant platforms. • Maintain and organize content on UNODC's Trello boards. • Assist in the management of UNODC X, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts. • Prepare monthly reports for website and social media analytics. • Conduct research relevant to the work of UNODC. • Perform other duties within the communications team as assigned.
